Kelly Mason, PPE Laboratory Manager, has worked with BTTG® for five years and has extensive experience in testing of protective clothing and other technical textile products. Kelly is the Chair of standards committee PH/3/2 Heat and Flame Protective Equipment and works closely with the FIA as a member of the Industry Working Group. 

Paul, Laboratory Manager, is responsible for the Textile, Floor Coverings, Fire and Electrostatic Testing laboratories. He has over 30 years experience in textile testing. Paul represents the interests of the UK’s carpet industry on the BSI Committee, PRI/60 and he is also the UK expert representing BSI at both CEN TC/134 and ISO TC/219 technical committees for floor coverings.

Tori is the International Operations Manager for BTTG® and Shirley®, she has over nine years experience of Textiles Technology and Testing gained through a range of roles within Technical Customer Service Team of BTTG®. Her understanding of our business and technical knowledge aids communications between the UK and our International staff.

Chris is the Certification Manager for BTTG® in the UK and Shirley® in Ireland. He has over 30 years' experience in testing and certification of protective clothing and other technical textile products. He is a technical expert in garment performance and design and has extensive experience in the Certification of PPE, Marine Equipment and Construction Products. Chris was Convenor of the PPE notified body coordination group VG5 for protective clothing and gloves for more than a decade.

Carlene Matthews is the Customer Services Section Leader for PPE and Industrial Materials Testing. She has worked with BTTG® for 6 years and has 10 years of experience within the textiles testing industry performing technical contract review and providing support to clients. 

Ian, Technical Textiles Specialist, has over 28 years’ experience working in textile testing laboratories. His primary role is managing the technical support, expertise and response to operational, technical and legislative queries for external clients as well as for internal product and test development and investigative work. Ian is a qualified Expert Witness (Civil) and a is Chartered Fellow of the Textile Institute and holds BSc, HNC and ONC qualifications in Textile Technology and acts as UK expert to some 20+ ISO committees and working groups dealing with textile standardisation.

Phil Hutching, Client Support Specialist for the Customer Services Team at BTTG®, advising and assists clients on all aspects of textile testing and the factors that influence them. He has over 30 years of experience in the textile industry, with a background in wet processing and textile auxiliary application routes.

Catherine, the Quality Manager for BTTG® in the UK and Shirley® in Ireland, has worked with BTTG® for 6 years. She has 17 years' experience in quality management roles covering various industries including pharmaceutical, environmental chemistry and textiles. She has extensive experience implementing and overseeing management systems designed to both cGMP and ISO standards, designing and introducing systems which continue to contribute to the success of the organisations.

An effective listener and communicator with the ability to organise, motivate and encourage others to successfully deliver complex multi-track projects within strict timelines.

Sue has worked for BTTG® and Shirley® for over 26 years, and has 36 years’ experience working in Finance. Sue oversees the day to day running of the finance team and assists in all aspects of the accounts function within the companies. Sue is also the Company Secretary for all the UK subsidiary companies for BTTG® and Shirley®.

Sarah is General Manager of Shirley® Technologies (Europe) Ltd, based in Ireland. She manages the Global Audit Team and has been with BTTG® & Shirley® for 8 years.

With 40 years experience in conformity assessment within the manufacturing industry, the last 25 years being in textiles and textile related products, Sarah is familiar with a wide range of manufacturing techniques, including end to end experience in the textile industry from raw material and accessories manufacture through to finished products.

Paul is a Principal Auditor for Shirley® Ireland and has has extensive experience in carrying out textile factory audits all over the world covering protective clothing, geotextiles, floor coverings, wall coverings, curtains, mattresses, upholstery and other textile products. He has been with BTTG® & Shirley® for over 40 years.
