CPR Systems of Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance (AVCP)
AVCP 1 and 1+
- System 1 products typically have added Flame Retardant (FR) such as flooring, wall-coverings, insulation products and membranes.
- The Approved Body conducts the initial FPC audit, and takes samples for the initial type test, usually the fire classification.
- Once the audit and testing is complete, the FPC certificate is issued by BTTG®, and the manufacturer can complete their Declaration of Performance (DoP) and apply the UKCA mark.
- The Approved Body must carry out annual FPC surveillance audits at the manufacturing site.
AVCP 2+
- System 2+ products are typically geosynthetics, geobarriers, and membranes that do not require fire testing.
- The Approved Body conducts the initial FPC audit. The manufacturer is responsible for testing the product, and declaring the performance.
- Our UKAS accredited Industrial Materials laboratory can be used for the testing of these products.
- Once the audit is complete, and the manufacturer has drafted their Declaration of Performance (DoP), the FPC certificate is issued by BTTG®, and the manufacturer can apply the UKCA mark.
- The Approved Body must carry out annual FPC surveillance audits at the manufacturing site.
AVCP 3
- System 3 products are typically without any added FR agent, and include flooring, wall-coverings, insulation products and membranes.
- There is no need for FPC audits with System 3 products.
- The manufacturer must submit their System 3 product to a UK Approved Laboratory for the initial type testing.
- Our Industrial Materials and Fire laboratories are UK Approved Laboratory 0338.
- Manufacturers can use our Approved Laboratory test reports to make their Declaration of Performance (DoP), and apply the UKCA mark.
Great Britain UKCA marking of Construction Products for the Great Britain market
UK conformity assessment (UKCA) is the process by which a manufacturer ensures their construction product meets the requirements of the UK Construction Products Regulations as they apply in Great Britain (GB), before applying the UKCA mark and placing on the GB market. UK approved bodies and approved laboratories are appointed to carry out tasks which require independent third-party assessment.
Northern Ireland UKNI marking of Construction Products for the Northern Ireland market
Northern Ireland (NI) is aligned with EU rules for manufactured goods. Construction Products placed on the NI market must follow UK law as it applies to NI, which implements the EU CPR.
Manufacturers have a choice for placing Construction Products on the NI market. They can use the CE mark, which for System 1+, 1, and 2+ requires FPC certification from an EU notified body. Alternatively, if they choose to use a UK body, known as a ‘UK notified body’, they would apply the CE mark together with the UKNI marking. The UKNI marking can only be used in NI.
