Sister Company, Shirley® Technologies (Europe) Limited was established to continue certification and auditing services for Europe. The group can offer both UKCA and CE marking through one assessment, enabling manufacturers to sell their product in the EU and the United Kingdom, as well as ISO 9001.
Shirley®, the official OEKO-TEX® institute in the UK, offers both targeted PFAS analysis using advanced chromatography (HPLC-MS/MS and CI-GC-MS/MS), alongside innovative total/extractable fluorine testing by combustion Ion chromatography (CIC). This provides our clients with the detailed information needed to make proactive decisions about the challenges ahead due to escalating REACH and POPS legislations. In accordance with the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 PPE supplement, Shirley offers testing on PPE, special workwear, and materials used for their production, with a focus on ensuring they do not contain substances harmful to human health.
We offer testing to support certification services from within the group’s laboratories. Our long history means we have a wealth of experience and knowledge with textiles and related products and have worked extensively with the emergency services and continues to test and certify their PPE. Since 1989 BTTG® have been involved in evaluating protective clothing under full-flame engulfment with the world-renowned RALPH and SOPHIE male and female manikins.
